Under occupation and apartheid, the Palestinian Jadu’i watermelon was nearly lost until a new generation of Palestinian seed savers began reviving it through the Palestine Heirloom Seed Library.
Eight of these endangered seeds made their way to Occupied Chumash lands a few seasons back. Those first eight have now become 300.
About 100 of these seedlings are currently being cared for in Saticoy to multiply in spaces in more tender than Palestine is right now.
